“Slowly” by NOA started with a simple instrumental from J Cherry Beatz. While he had sent her a bulk of instrumentals, she heard this particular song and immediately gravitated to it. The lyrical themes circle around creating safe spaces for intimacy. NOA cites that she was going through lots of changes that had her reconsidering what honesty and safety meant—how to be there for others when they need to share, what to share when it was her turn, and how to know who is emotionally safe. The song helped her see the forest from the trees by taking something deeply personal and writing and singing about it. The song will be included in her debut solo album which is a seamless body of work including neo-soul, pop, R&B, and melodic reggae styles of music.
